Foams are used for various purposes and in huge amounts in a cabin, ranging from seat cushions or matresses to heat, noise insulation, vibration absorbance, etc. Manufacturing of insulation products is an intergral part of our capabilities.
Depending on the purpose, we use various materials that we purchase from world leading manufacturers of polyimide and polyurethane foams, combining acoustic and thermal insulation capabilities for the whole aircraft cabin such as linings, wall panels for cabin and rest areas or isulation blankets for door areas
Among our key products for acoustic isolation are wall panels. To produce these, we use melamine resin foam that we laminate and glue to polycarbonate frames, then upholster and delivery ready for instalation with the required ribbons.
In addition to products like insulation blankets or linings for primary and secondary isolation, we provide a world-wide unique solution that we developed after having been approached by customers with the problem of low temperatures affecting the crew: Insulation Blanket Curtains
These curtains realise insulation around emergency exits and in those areas where emergency slides are stored. Tests have shown that in these areas, where crew and flight attendant are seated during takeoff and landing, temperatures lower than -10° can be reached.
ACM Insulation Blanket Curtains can easily be attached during the flight and removed when boarding or getting off the plane, that way providing flexibility and completing the insulation of the whole cabin.
All materials include long-established foams and textiles as well as most innovative ones available on the market.
With the testing services, that we provide in collaboration with renowned labaratories, we perform all required tests such as the vertical kerosene burn test to verify all airwothiness requirements of the used foams.
In addition to the fire resistance, all foams we use combine the following properties:
- Excellent acoustic and thermal absorption
- Lightweight to increase the load capacity and fuel savings
- Environmentally friendly: minumum usage of chemicals
- Ready to install in aircraft: cut and fitted to the required shape and structure for immediate usage
- Durable and resistant to damage
As it is the case with all our products, our staff has extensive experience with the development, design and finishig textiles, fabrics and our production facility is fully equipped and optimized.
Being an EASA approved supplier we also meet all GRESS / GRAMS requirements.
